Each season we honour the memory of Alan Havard by playing the Havard Memorial Cup on the first home league game for the First XV.

This year our opponents will be Bolton and the game will take place on the 14th September.

Alan was one of the key figures in the club for many years dating back to the 1970's, in the late 80's and early 90's the club was struggling and in dire need of finance and reinvigoration.

Alan along with other club stalwarts John Kenny and Ann Shorrock, gave more than most to ensure that the club survived and prospered into the club we are today.

We will always be grateful for the input Alan Havard gave to Southport RFC and look forward to welcoming Alan's family on the day to present the Havard Memorial Cup
