It is with great pleasure and pride that we announce Jake Mann, Laura Walton, Matthew Croughan & Phillip Causey will be our senior team captains ahead for the 2024-2025 season at Southport RFC.

First XV - Jake Mann

Southport born Jake joined us from Rossendale and has been part of the senior leadership group for the First XV for a number of years. Scrum-half by trade Jake is able to cover a number of positions in the backs. Cool and calm under pressure, and a natural goal kicker when the need arises.

Jake has also represented Lancashire Royals.

We are delighted to name Jake Mann as the 92nd First XV captain of Southport RFC.

Ladies XV - Laura Walton

Expert ball carrier, powerhouse of a front row and another homegrown captain who has shown superb leadership skills over recent seasons and will continue to lead our Ladies XV in Women's Championship North 2 this season.

Laura has represented Lancashire, and has received a Lancashire Cap to celebrate 10+ caps for the county.

We are delighted for Laura, and we look forward to another successful season for our Ladies XV.

Second XV - Matthew Croughan

This is Matthew's second spell as captain and with his natural leadership skills has made him the ideal captain to lead our Second XV.

It’s with great pleasure to have Matthew as our Second XV captain.

Third XV - Phillip Causey

Committed to the role for another season, it’s with great pleasure to announce Phillip Causey will be our Third XV captain for the new season.

A determined player on the pitch, Phil combines playing with a nack of fielding great sides, building a great team spirit that embodies everything in the essence of a true Third XV captain.

It is fantastic news that we are able to name, Phillip as our Third XV captain for the 2024/25 campaign.
